| I got an email from Paula Abeles today, announcing a new group focusing on organizing grassroots efforts in all 50 states.
If you have any ideas or contacts for Paula post them here and I'll send her a link. If you'd like me to pass names etc on to her confidentially please feel free to email them to me at hillarysbloggers@yahoo.com.
Hi Everyone:
As many of you already know, we are merging with Women for Fair Politics and are forming a new group to organize local NoBO networks in 50 states. Our primary purpose will be to inform and educate. Many believe that the msm has abdicated their responsibility to scrutinize Senator Obama in a fair and open manner. Others want to call the public's attention to examples of sexism, or illegalities in the nomination process. |

We are also aware that there are lots of HRC supporters who don't have access to internet or email. We want to reach out to them by organizing groups in their local communities to take direct action (mailing postcards, handing out flyers, speaking to local civic groups etc.). Where local organizations already exist, we want to assist them by giving them membership leads and providing access to materials and resources.
We have received UNBELIEVABLE SUPPORT for this project. We are in the process of sorting through (as of today) almost 100,000 email addresses/contact info from coalition members. I want to thank Diane M. and John West at Just Say No Deal, Will Bower at PUMA, Jim Hannagan at I Own My Vote, Cristi Adkins at Clintons4McCain, Robin at Grassroots for Hillary and of course our wonderful friends at Women For Fair Politics. This is truly a cooperative effort to form an "infantry" for the JSND coalition members. Marilu Socher is making sure we are set up as a 501c4 with all the appropriate documentation and we hope to unveil the new website, 800-number and name on July 7th.
How can you help?
1) Those of you who have witnessed improprieties first hand-you have a voice---we want to give you a venue; on the radio, on YouTube or with a local book club. There's nothing more powerful than a first-person testimonial. If we want our democracy back, people need to hear your stories.
2) I'm hoping some of you will be state (or local) coordinators. Please let me know if you can help. We need you.
3) As you may understand, this is an enormous undertaking. Some of the groups will be self-funding. But in some of the most critical areas, where there has been economic dislocation, volunteers will not be able to afford printing $200. worth of flyers. We need to help them. We need money. If you want to help in this critical effort, please contribute at www.womenforfairpolitics.com. If you have ideas for others that might assist us with fundraising, please let me know. Marilu and I believe as more people become aware of the game-changing role these local organizations can play in this election-people will come forward to help. But, for obvious reasons, we need help now. Whatever you can spare to get this initiative off the ground--$10, $20.--whatever-it's all good.
As always, we value your opinions and ideas. Please let me know your thoughts.
Thanks everyone!
