Obamapalooza to be held at INVESCO Field. Seems fitting.

Invesco is a multi-national, multi-company, investment management company that has portfolios in the nuclear industry, index trading of oil futures, a commodities branch, a wealth management division and your typical list of targeted mutual funds.  They also invest in wind and some other clean energy solutions.

All around corporate schmucks just like the Obama followers love.

http://www.invesco.com/index.html

http://www.invescopowershares....

Notice I included the fact that they do have many investments in clean energy.  I'm trying to be fair here.

I really did expect them to cancel the convention and just hold a huge rally at Soldier's Field but no, they still want a sham of a convention and an Obamapalooza of a final night.

Just a few descriptions of their many lovely companies that help the wealthy get wealthier at our expense.

lucky for us you're not with the opposing team, those rugs are lethal.  Barack is sooo shameless, he's not for accepting corporate donations, he donates to them?

Hillary - alternative energy

From Today's Chicago Tribune (0.00 / 0)
The Center for Responsive Politics reported that Obama had raised $115,163 from "lobbyists" as of March 20. Obama now says they are "former" lobbyists, so they don't fall under his ban on lobbyist donations.

So, whom do lobbyists represent? Special interests-various industries and associations wanting something from government. Here, from the Center's OpenSecrets.org, are some of the industries that have given Obama money: lawyers, $17.8 million; securities and investments, $7.9 million; education, $7 million; real estate, business services, miscellaneous businesses, health professionals and TV/movies/music, more than $4 million each. Computers/Internet, finance, civil servants and public officials, printing and publishing, commercial banks, hospitals and nursing homes, construction services, all ranging from almost $1 million to more than $3 million.

Biggest donors? Goldman, Sachs & Co., UBS, JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, National Amusements, Lehman Brothers, Google, Sidley Austin, Skadden Arps, Time Warner, Morgan Stanley, Exelon, Latham & Watkins, Microsoft and GE are among the biggest corporate contributors.

Love that rug! Lose the candidate. ;-) (0.00 / 0)
New Hampster, this is a brilliant little piece of work.  I especially loved those rugs. ;-)

As for the candidate, can we please drop him like a hot rock already?  (As I keep saying, "Stop the drama.  Dump Obama!")  Pretty please?  Pretty please with sugar on it?

Seriously, I cannot get over Obama's arrogance.  I do not understand where it comes from; it is all because he's male and has the male equipment that comes as factory standard issue as encore, encore said in (his/her) blog?  (Far more colorfully and directly than I just have, but I'm trying to be family-friendly.)

I just don't understand this.  A real man doesn't need to flaunt himself this way.

Hell, a real man wouldn't want to get a gig if this was the only way he could get it!

There's no excuse for this, DNC.  None.

the rumor is (0.00 / 0)
that it's compensation for not being able to bar Hillary from the convention hall. she's not to be allowed near the stadium. Like, she'd even want to.  Barack is so dumb, she's got the plans, he needs plans, she's generous, she wants the next president to do the best job, and he's still insulting her (and us?) weird?

The primary was a near tie. But he needs a stadium. (0.00 / 0)
Is this weird or what.

[ Parent ]
To him the primary is over (0.00 / 0)
Hillary was just another bump on the road to glory.

Obamapalooza will be an opportunity to show the world, those who really did not pay attention, to show them how his followers truly adore him.  He will be anointed and glorified while the whole world is watching.

OK this might be gross, but (0.00 / 0)
do you think he expects to reach orgasm while giving his speech?

No way (0.00 / 0)
he's the kind of super stud that does it in or on momma or not at all.

No, but he will expect (0.00 / 0)
his followers to reach it. And apparently they do. Messy. Ick.

Barack Obama's election proves that any male can grow up to be president, provided he's willing to use misogyny as a campaign strategy.

I wore a button for almost a year.  "Real men vote Hillary"

I'm sorry to say but this man who has no understanding of the male need to dominate, I think I would lay the blame for the Obamas of the world at the feet of their mothers.  Not their dads.  It was mom who pushed them to be the best.  To win the high jump at all costs.  It was mom who wanted her little boy to be the biggest, strongest most successful in his class.

Dads just want a son to grow up and go fishing, have a beer and fart together.

I don't know, New Hampster. (0.00 / 0)
I'd agree with that in general, but my late husband's mother was probably more like what you're describing than not -- he just didn't buy into it at all.  He was a nurturer.  And many men are -- they're not the majority, mind, but they are a strong minority.  And idiots like the folks running the Obama campaign (if not Obama himself) seem to believe that this very strong minority of nurturing men don't exist merely because they aren't nurturers and they can't ever comprehend being such!

Well, as I said in another blog-comment here at Alegre's Corner tonight, these men are not evolved enough to even know why you'd want to be a nurturer; a nurturer, y'see, gets more action and gets better action because he cares more and his wife knows that he cares because he can't hide it and doesn't want to do so, either.  (So there.  Nyah!  -- not to you, to the Obama-bots if/when they show up.)

I agree with your button -- so would my late husband, I am absolutely convinced.  (Remember, he liked her long before I did.  He wanted her to run for President in '04 and was disappointed when she didn't.  Then he didn't live long enough to see her run this year.)

And as far as I'm concerned, you're not much of a man if you can't understand the appeal of a truly competent, compassionate and qualified candidate like Hillary R. Clinton. (Score another one across Axelrod's bow.  Hiss!)

There's no excuse for this, DNC.  None.

A theory: the stadium ensures PUMA demonstrators will be (0.00 / 0)
drowned out.

Why else would he tack on $3 million to the Denver Host Committee's bill, when said Host Committee is already behind in fundraising and over budget. And the Host Committee is already complaining that he hasn't helped them raise money, but he opted out of public financing and so his campaign says he needs to raise money for his own campaign and can't waste a minute or a dime going to other causes.

I can't decide if he's scary or dorky.

Well, they have taken over the state organizations, (0.00 / 0)
perhaps they will loot their treasuries to pay for it. I was under the impression that Obama's campaign was going to pay for it out of the left-over primary money that they can't use in the GE. If they do, then they can have whomever they want in and not let Hillary speak at all. If the convention committee pays for it, he will have some explaining to do as to why he is freezing out Hillary. We know why, but I would like to hear his explanation. And then the explanation of the explanation. Heh.

What a Sham or is it a shame? (0.00 / 0)
With so many people around the country worried about losing their homes from foreclosure; or losing their job as more American jobs get shipped overseas; or that they can't pay off their credit card debt, Obama decides to have an extravagant coronation. What a shame!

His priorities are not in the right place. This reminds me of Bush's "Mission Accomplished". All show and no substance. All ego and little thought of others. Having millions watch his acceptance speech on television isn't enough. He has to waste money on this extravaganza. Bet Hillary wouldn't have wasted money like this.

Wonder how much tax payers money he will waste if he ever gets to be president.

Oh, but see he's addressed his patriotism, faith-based programs and (0.00 / 0)
public service.

What do these foreclosure victims want - some sort of plan or something? Sheesh!

Obama loves corporations and they love him.. (0.00 / 0)
to the tune of lots and lots of money. Check out this list.. http://www.whitehouseforsale.o... It lists the bundlers, the category of fundraising they did, $50,000, $100,000, $200,000, etc. Most of them work for corporations. I am not on my own computer tonight, it's in for repair..sob..so I have a slow computer and the LAN is slow due to rain interfering with the sat signal. So, I can't look up which corporation is part of what conglomerate. But I would bet that Invesco bundlers raised funds for Obama too. Oh, and check out this story about Obama's sister talking about how he is historical and put together the machine in just a few months!! http://www.haleakalatimes.com/... I guess she doesn't realize that the "machine" was up and running in Chicago for decades before Obama ever showed up. Or was born, come to think of it. Heh. All he did was tap into it. The article makes it sound like he invented campaigning and funding all on his own. Oh, and he is "Hawaii's gift to the mainland". (Can we get them to take him back now, please?) Read it and gag.. I did. I would do a diary on it, but my connection keeps weirding out. Sigh, I miss my laptop..sob.

Wait a minute.  I thought he was a son of the Kansas heartland.

Ooops...I forgot.  He's a product of the Chicago ghettos.

No, he's actually a citizen of the world.

Take your pick.

Is anyone working on getting tickets? (0.00 / 0)
I want one, if so. I'll buy it myself if someone tells me where.

I'm a Stantonian Democrat.

Rumor is free (0.00 / 0)
and a select few who donate $5 will be flown out there.

I'm sure the tickets will be passed out at Col State and Boulder.  The warm-up concert with mosh pit will have nothing to do with attendance.

Cool, I have a friend on the ground in Denver (0.00 / 0)
Who is also offering me a place to stay while I'm there. I can send him in advance to secure tickets. I'll ask him to get the max (and maybe get his wife to ask for another set). If can get them, and if I have extras, I'll offer them to friends online.

NYT On Financial Problems at the Denver Convention (0.00 / 0)
Wow. Who would have believed it. Obama is rolling in money but the DNC is in financial trouble. They are way over budget--spending $100,000 a month for office space in Denver and another $50,000 a month for rented furniture!!!!!

Despite this Obama spends even more so he can give his acceptance speech at Mile High Stadium. Shame on him for wasting money just to feed his ego.

Here is the link to the NYT article. Very revealing. Howard Dean is an even worse head of DNC than I realized.

Delays and Rising Costs for Convention Raise Worries for Democrats

Planners of the convention in Denver may be forced to scale back on their original design or increase their fund-raising goals.

You'd think they would relax the food color requirements (0.00 / 0)
And then there is the food: A 28-page contract requested by Denver organizers that caterers provide food in "at least three of the following five colors: red, green, yellow, blue/purple and white." Garnishes could not be counted toward the colors. No fried foods would be allowed. Organic and locally grown foods were mandated, and each plate had to be 50 percent fruits and vegetables. As a result, caterers are shying away.

Howthehell (0.00 / 0)
are we supposed to convince the voters we're the party of fiscal responsibility when we pull sh*t like this?

John Q. is currently paying $4+ a gallon for gas and two bucks for a loaf of bread.  How is it going to look to him when he sees TWO huge venues set aside for Obama's coronation?  Isn't he going to compare this to the last eight years of an imperial presidency and say "Hell, no!"?

I have never seen a candidate who was so politically tone-deaf.  He's actually making McCain look like a man of the people.

Dean deciding the vote (0.00 / 0)
I wonder if the Super Delegates are aware that Dean and Obama are forcing them to vote for BHO by reserving the stadium for the acceptance speech.  I'm sure they are afraid of the riots, cheating, stealing, and lying that would go on (just like the caucuses) by the BHO people who follow BHO to Denver if the super delegates did what was right for America and voted for Hillary Clinton.

I'm not proud to be an American anymore.

It was his second choice (0.00 / 0)
He originally was going to descend from Mount Sinai with a pair of clay tablets proclaiming his nomination, but apparently the parking permits were too difficult to work out...
