| Today's Wall Street Journal reports that BHO's camp wants to raise $300 million in general election funds by mid-October. That's an awful lot of money, and my first thought was wow - does he think working folks like us are made of money? I mean he's already raked in about $287 million during the primaries and now he wants another $300 in the next 3 months?
After mentioning that BHO pulled in $30 million in June (so much for that $100 million they were aiming for) the WSJ goes on to say
While this isn't a poor showing, it is an underwhelming haul for a campaign that has ballooned in recent months, has promised a true, 50-state electioneering effort and has told its biggest fund-raisers that it wants to collect $300 million in general-election cash by mid-October.
I think we all know that money's not going to come from folks like us.
$300 million - sure blows the money he would have gotten if he'd gone for public financing right out of the water eh?
But it had nothing to do with his decision to skip that cash and the spending limits that would have come with it right? The system's broken blah blah blah... not what it used to be blah blah blah blah...
If you belive that make the jump - I've got a bridge you might be interested in buying.
Make the jump for the update. |
