BREAKING: Hillary fares better against McCain; Obama's star fades

Months before the Presidential election, America is already rejecting Barack Obama. A new Rasmussen survey finds that Hillary Clinton fares much better in a match up against McCain than the precocious freshman Senator.
owl06 :: BREAKING: Hillary fares better against McCain; Obama's star fades
That's right folks, it's Obama 47% and McCain 45% - a real squeaker. So much for the Democratic advantage.

What happens when Obama is replaced by another Democrat you may ask...They win solidly. According to the report:

...McCain fares better against Obama than he does against two other prominent Democrats. New York Senator Hillary Clinton leads McCain by eight points, 50% to 42%. Former Vice President Al Gore, the Democratic presidential nominee in 2000, leads McCain 50% to 43%.

However, there is a bright side of the Senator: He would rout George Bush Bush 54% to 34, according to the report. But Barack Obama is not running against George Bush, and John McCain is not George Bush.

Super delegates - are you watching? The GOP has not even begun to play.

so lemme get this straight... (0.00 / 0)
hillary has an eight point lead over mccain, and obama has a two point lead - and he's the presumptuous nominee???? poor guy. no wonder he doesn't want a roll call vote at the convention. he's afraid of her- and of the will of the democratic party members.

Barack Obama's election proves that any male can grow up to be president, provided he's willing to use misogyny as a campaign strategy.

He's afraid of a match up (0.00 / 0)
that doesn't have archaic, technicality filled rules.

Rasmussen will continue to poll this match up going into the convention.

The only rational explanation for DNC action was (0.00 / 0)
they don't mind losing the general election.  Their priority was to select BO.  And they "think" they have achieved that.

Algore didn't campaign at all (0.00 / 0)
and he is doing better than BO.   This is hilarious.

The fact that Hillary is besting even Al Gore is icing on the cake! (0.00 / 0)
Of all the possible Democrats, Hillary polls at least as high as any other Democrat and McCain does worse against Hillary than any other Democrat.

Now, Obamanation (0.00 / 0)

The Obamedia (0.00 / 0)

Jeez. (0.00 / 0)
McCain himself would rout George Bush.  The gout of wet hair in my shower drain would rout George Bush.

Sad that both Al and Hillary had to endorse (0.00 / 0)
someone less liked and electible then they are.  Politics is a humiliating business for the participants.  I wonder if it has ever occured to Obama that he isn't really the chosen one by the actual people.

I'm not surprised, Owl06. But pleased. ;-) (0.00 / 0)
We're sticking to our guns, which is what I'd expected.  I also expected we'd not give money to the DNC, and guess what?  We aren't!

;-)

(Using Miller High Life guy voice:)  DNC, this is your wake-up call!  Get your butt up!**

** and support Hillary R. Clinton, the only candidate who is sure to beat John McCain in the fall.  NOW!

There's no excuse for this, DNC.  None.

Figuring out the goal (0.00 / 0)
I am a newbie here. I have a question to throw out...It seems obvious that Obama is trying to keep Clinton off the ballot in Denver to avoid embarrassment or, God forbid, losing the Holy Grail. It also seems obvious that she is entitled to have her name put into nomination and to accept the votes of her pledged delegates on the first ballot.

So what should we be working towards?  Obama will try to cast her as the worst of villains if she does not release her delegates before the convention.   If she releases them, does that mean she will not be nominated?  And, if she can still be  nominated, does that mean no one will vote for her?

Next: I have heard, but cannot verify, that superdelegates vote via secret ballot. If that is the case, could she actually be nominated in a surprise mass reversal by the supers?  Or are they obliged to somehow indicate their intentions?

Finally, if Obama chooses Clinton as his Vice President, will all of the above go away?  In other words, could he insure his nomination by choosing her or could she still be nominated at the convention?

Given all those questions, what kind of a concentrated goal should we be working towards?

Thanks boys and girls...I think I am home.

Good questions all. I asked Alegre for a post earlier today to address the process. Stay tuned.

polls (0.00 / 0)
The polls all through the primaries showed Hillary trouncing McCain and Obama in a squeaker.  The DNC and Dem elites have been so out of touch with the electorate, it's baffling.  Maybe they've just wanted to lose this election from the get-go.  Just doesn't make sense.
