Let's hope they eat each other alive and then barf themselves all back up again in front of the entire world.  After Bush, how can any of them show their faces.  

I am just worried that Sotamayor is the token woman, and that the next will be another male, again.  In fact he satisfied a couple of groups all wrapped up in one.  Isn't she enough to shut us up for another couple of terms?

What really bothered me, though, were the polls coming out of nowhere right before OBama named his choice that said that 98.7 percent of Americans say that it didn't matter if he picked a woman for the seat.  According to old white blowhard males like Cafferty on CNN this shows we have really advanced in our mentality and are not so uptight anymore about political correctness or seeing gender instead of the quality of the appointee.  What a bunch of BS! Only a clueless in power old pasty white guy could think this means the culture is advancing past racism, sexism, etc etc.  What obnoxious assholes these talking heads are.

I'm an unabashed and unaplogetic feminist (4.00 / 1)

I won't be satisfied until the court includes 5 women and 4 men to reflect the balance of women to men in this country (sorry guys we be DO outnumber you!).

I also won't rest easy until women hold at least half the seats in Congress and we take the White House more than a few times.

Hey I'm not all that tough to please - I just want EQUALITY dammit!

You never know how long it will last.  I finially discovered that a couple of layers into the new security system I am using there is a place to type in the website you want to post on, otherwise you never get to participate in the blogging world again. :)

I interviewed for a job recently and if I got it I would have to give up campaigns, blogging... pretty much everything re politics and advocacy full stop.

You'd have to reregister as someone else on your own blog.  LOL.  I assume the job is for the government.  Sortof sounds like the Hatch Act of which I also am a prisoner.  

But I hope you get it!!!  Good luck!  Did the interview go well or can't you tell?  We just went through interviews in our office for promotions.  Things get really nasty, and it is traumatic and stressful for me.  I hate the competition and the bullying people do to each other.

but they're' in the public eye and pride themselves on being non-partisan.  No campaigning - period.  I'd even have to take the Hillary stickers off my car.  I'd be "hatched" and then some.

So no, I wouldn't be able to post so I'd have to think long and hard about taking the job if it's offered.  THere'd be room for advancement in a year and this is a rock solid company.  But not being involved in politics and advocacy would be a major, MAJOR sacrifice and would totally go against my grain.  That on top of a pay cut compared to what I was making before (but a damn site more than unemployment bens. bring in!).

I always hate review time - whether there are promotions on the line or not I always stress.  And usually over nothing because people say they're happy with my work and want to give me more responsiblity!

Good luck with the promotions thing.
