N.A.A.C.P in pre-PUMA mode

by: Pacific John

They'll go full PUMA once BHO screws them over jobs.

With unemployment among blacks at more than 15 percent, the N.A.A.C.P. will join several other groups on Tuesday to call on President Obama to do more to create jobs.

The organizations - including the A.F.L.-C.I.O. and the National Council of La Raza, a Hispanic advocacy group - will make clear that they believe the president's $787 billion stimulus program has not gone far enough to fight unemployment.

Other people BHO doesn't seem worked up about: hungry kids.

This for me is core to Democratic values. I'm as likely to help primary a Dem who sits on their ass over this as I am to go after a wingnut. And by "a Dem," I mean the current quasi-Republican president.

And it doesn't take a lot of work to link the two (4.00 / 2)
If the job market sucks, kids disproportionately pay.

The economy at the bottom of the ladder sucks so badly, some of the normal financial help in Mexican immigrant families has reversed, and families SOB are sending help north.

It sure would be nice to be part of a party that both cared about this type of human suffering, and was competent to do something about it.

At this point (4.00 / 2)
I believe I would settle for caring or competent.  The problem now seems to be that our government is so settled into their protective bubble they can't even see or acknowledge the problems out in the country.

On that note, I have never in my lifetime seen so much anger toward the political class, on both sides of the aisle, out in the flyover states.  There is going to be hell to pay in the 2010/2012 elections.  I don't believe the economy is capable of turning around fast enough to stop it.

If a 3rd party can't make it this next cycle, it may not ever.

better provide enough change for people to see because the following paragraph from Liberal Rapture is dead on.

Currently, the gulf between Wall Street and Main Street is boldly inviting a catastrophe. The plot points of chaos are being written: off the charts gun sales, seething anger, overt duplicity from our leadership, a deeply indebted nation throwing bad money after bad money, elites making a killing while unemployment spikes, and, on all levels, an intractable desire to ignore our basic structural problems.

Hungry (4.00 / 3)
I don't even know how to add to this. I think I have to go hit some walls or something.

Hungry (4.00 / 1)
After I banged a lot of stuff around, I thought of something to add, waddaya think?
