Obama is the anti-leader. Where this is void in leadership, people will step up in their self-interest to fill the void, and that's what Obama has facilitated. Senators are left choosing between doing nothing and doing something that looks like what the people want, but is only what the health insurance companies want. If they vote against it, they look like they are thwarting the people's will. If they vote for it, well, they're doing the insurance companies' will. It's a bad situation for everyone. Without a president fighting for good policy, good policy won't happen.

Of course, Obama's leadership void exists where voters want things. Where 2012 big money wants things, he's efficiency perfected. |
