Join Hillary For Dinner, Retire Debts

Looks like we still have some campaign debt to retire. Hillary just sent this email out and has it on her campaign home page. Who wants to have dinner with Hillary? Consider this a fund raising thread!

Dinner with Hillary
(photo from Hillary Clinton's campaign website)

Dear ______,

Summer is a time for simple pleasures: family vacations, baseball games, and dinner out under the stars. At least it is if you aren't running for president!

It sure is nice having a little more time on my hands, and I'd love to spend some of it with you. Would you like to join me for dinner?

During the campaign, I had the chance a few times to grab meals with supporters, but they were always rushed thanks to the frenetic pace of the campaign. This is my first chance to sit down and spend some real one-on-one time with you. If you enter today, we could be having dinner together soon!

Join me for dinner. Make a contribution today.

My staff has been calling this my "retirement dinner" -- not because I'm retiring, of course, but because we're working on retiring the debt we owe to small vendors all over the country. And everyone who acts today will have the chance to join me -- along with a guest -- for a dinner to talk about whatever you'd like.

Let's go to dinner! Contribute now, and you and I could be enjoying a summer dinner together soon!

Join me for dinner. Make a contribution today.

Thank you so much for all your wonderful support.

All the best,
Hillary

What are you waiting for, a dinner invitation or something! Dig deep into your pockets and pocketbooks.

Hillary, we know (0.00 / 0)
that "you aren't running for president" right now. Get your rest, enjoy some simple pleasures. We are going to be calling on you at the convention to be the party nominee. Your fellow citizens and country need you. Seize the moment!

This could make news (0.00 / 0)
if she gets a lot of small donations.

Barack Obama's election proves that any male can grow up to be president, provided he's willing to use misogyny as a campaign strategy.

Five chances here (0.00 / 0)
What in the world would I say to her if I won?

Good point (0.00 / 0)
I should have donated $10 5 times to increase my chances ;)

I guess that means I need to donate again. I don't know what I would say either..."pass the salt, plez"...I hope I'd do better than that.

Can you let us know how much you donated? I want to keep a tally of our fund raising efforts. Thanks.

$25 (0.00 / 0)
$595 during the primaries.

$10 here -- up to @$180 for primaries. (0.00 / 0)
And I've never donated before this year, to anyone, for anything -- and I'd be classified as a small voter, as I donated that amount over 18 different donations since early March.

Who gets the smaller donors, DNC, and keeps getting 'em -- even with a suspended campaign?

As Alegre says, "Can you hear me now, (DNC and) Superdelegates?  Can you hear me now?"

There's no excuse for this, DNC.  None.

Excellent point (0.00 / 0)
even with a suspended campaign, Hillary is still getting donations. Thanks for donating!

I am tapped out until the middle of August, but (0.00 / 0)
I had an idea about more fundraising. I can give time and "inventory" to any fundraising efforts in Second Life. I have been there two years and love it. It is an amazing tool for things like this. I put up a diary about "Virtual Fundraising", and I think it would be a great way to do ongoing fundraisers for Hillary. We can all meet online, in virtual reality. As I said, I can donate time, space in SL and use of inventory to help raise funds.

What would you like to ask Hillary or talk to her about if you won? (0.00 / 0)
I donated more than $ 1000 to her campaign, and donated $100 in June to retire her debt--I'll gladly give her another $100 dollars this month and next, etc.--dinner or no dinner!
Oh yeah, I've never donated to a presidential candidate before.

Also, you've got to be kidding about not knowing what to talk to Hillary about if you won the dinner!  I'd buy her a cool beer and ask her what she thinks

1. about both BO's and JM's campaigns so far;
2. about what she thinks the Dem platform should be;
3. about her thoughts on the ever-growing PUMA movement;
4. about whether or not she wants the VP slot;
5. about her plans for 2008 or 2012;
6. about her work in the Senate
6. about how the primaries have impacted her relationship
   with the other women in the Senate and in the Congress;
7. about the October surprise she hinted at during the
  primaries;
(I could go on!)

I'd also ask her if she's spoken with Michelle O, Richardson, Jesse Jackson, and other "back stabbers"?

Most of all, I'd let her know how much support she has, and that soooo many of us still want her to be Prez!

Great list (0.00 / 0)
I'd like to ask her about her campaigning experience and what she feels are the easiest problems that we can solve.

Trixta, please consider donating for the dinner fund raiser. If you do, let me know by posting a comment in this diary. I want to keep a tally of how much we are raising to help retire the campaign debt for the month of July. Thanks.

bought ten chances but (0.00 / 0)
I don't want to have dinner with her.
I want her to lead.

She has the mind and spine to withstand insanity. Look at the absolute tidal wave of irrational hatred she had coming at her day after day after day. From all sides.

Even her own side. God damn she is remakable.

How heartbreaking that we are walking away from a rock of a woman and leader towards the latest break through brilliant branding effort.

It does make me sad

Thanks, Scoutt (0.00 / 0)
I agree. To have the strength to weather the adversity like she did and still persevere is a tremendous testament to her brilliance, character, and sheer will power. There is no leader in the world like her.

I'm trying to keep a tally of our fund raising efforts-- can you let us know what amount 10 chances equals? Thanks!

she'll keep leading (0.00 / 0)
the  mark of a leader is if there are followers, and she leads the way on oh so many issues. Barrack is one of her followers, a behindling.

I entered (0.00 / 0)
and I really really want to win. But I can deal with losing, and I won't be bitter, as long as the winner is decided fairly.  Then I'll unite gladly and hope the winner has a great time.

Hillary - alternative energy

I won't be bitter either (0.00 / 0)
I will happily unite for the lucky couple. Let me know how much you contributed so I can keep a tally. Thanks.
