Obama v. the GOP

There was a lot of approving chatter about Obama dueling with the Republicans at their retreat. Good for him. It's nice to remember that the GOP's ideas can't compete.

But as to what we need in terms of leadership, making the GOP look bad with their own ideas is just one small part. A leader needs to have a comprehensive sense of where the organization needs to go, the vision of how to get there, and the ability to revise plans in real time to keep up with events. Obama's recent performance is about 2% of what a competent corporate manager does on a daily basis - (s)he needs to be able be a rock star in a boardroom showdown before breakfast, plan new products before lunch, and make sure the operation runs like a well oiled machine that afternoon. Someone who pats him/herself on the back for saving the division at one key meeting and coasts for the rest of the week will fail.

Did he scold them for obstructing his supermajority? (0.00 / 0)
(Sorry, couldn't resist.)

His awesome performance simply reinforces the notion . . . (0.00 / 0)
that he's an awesome peformer, but an incompetent leader.
After his "victory" at the GOP caucus, he leaked that he was putting healthcare "reform" on the back burner (where it will die a natural death).
The 'bots are celebrating the performance, but soon they will realize the emptiness of the achievement.
You can't shout "healthcare crisis" for 12 months, and then say "never mind", without losing all credibility.  If anything, he's justifying opposition obstructionism on the issue.
This all just highlights the work horse / show horse dichotomy.

The Obots will always be enamored with superficial things (0.00 / 0)
like Barry's speechifying. Ooh, look! He's sooo smart. He can read a teleprompter and answer a few questions from bat-sh*t right-wingers! They act like that's the only requirement to become president after 8 years of Bushisms.

Via TGW's quote of the day:
http://guerillawomentn.blogspo...

After Massachusetts, Democrats were looking for leadership; they didn't get it. Ten days later, nobody is sure what Obama intends to do, and his aides are giving conflicting readings. It's as if Obama checked out. Look, Obama is a terrific speaker and a very smart guy. He really showed up the Republicans in the now-famous give-and-take. But we knew that. What's now in question isn't his ability to talk, it's his ability to lead.

barry is not a closer; and frankly, I don't think he cares!  He has more pressing matters, like acting as a commentator at basketball games.  Imo, he is no longer being taken seriously by anyone but his lemmings.

"Always aim high, work hard, and care deeply about what you believe in. When you stumble, keep faith. When you?re knocked down, get right back up. And NEVER listen to anyone who says you can't or shouldn't go on."
