Virtual fundraising..

I am doing this diary because of an exchange of comments I had with NewHampster. I am kicking myself for not thinking of it sooner.

I am a resident of Second Life, a virtual world on the internet, where all things are possible. At least they are if you can write a script for them. In Second Life, one is an avatar..like this one.
Photobucket

That's me, sitting in my garden, drinking lemonade. The gazebo you see behind me is on the roof of my house. The garden extends upwards and is very roomy. The house is on the water so, and I can provide sail boats and yachts, etc. for water activities. I have an inventory that I can pull a party out of in a matter of minutes..LOL. Well, maybe half an hour.

FlaDemFem :: Virtual fundraising..
This picture was taken before I changed the roof to a topiary garden. As you can see, SL is a lot of fun. It can also be free. You don't have to spend money there, you can get everything you need, including free avatar forms and skins. If you want to spend money, you can and just list your debit or credit card with them for buying Lindens, which are the in-world currency. But, you can do that for the donations to Hillary and just do everything else for free. I rent a house and land to make a garden on. I am currently in Victorian mode, but have clothes and accessories to be just about anything I want, including SciFi and Fantasy characters. They also have Tinies, who are little cartoon-like avatars which look like small bunnies or bears. And the list goes on, Nekkos, who look half animal, complete with ears and tail, Furries who are all animal. And then there are the Necros, who are dead, or look it, the Goths, the Goreans, the Dragonriders, Knights, Lords, Ladies, fairies, faes, nymphs, etc. SL has sims that are retro to all ages including Ancient Rome and Athens, Victorian, modern and medieval London, China, Africa, and many other places on this planet are recreated in SL. It is a fun place to play and to do business. Many major corporations have a presence there for virtual business conferences and product intros.

The forms of transport in SL are varied and fun. You can fly, or teleport, walk, ride or drive. I recommend TP to a hub near where you want to be and then fly or ride/walk/drive the rest of the way. You can drive just about anything you want. I have a Rolls, a Corvette, a Viper, a Supercar, and various other modes of drivable transport in my inventory. I also have a Pegasus, dragons of various sorts, a flying carpet, a flying cloud, and planes of various design.

So you can see why I think SL would be a great place to have a fund raiser, we can all dress up and have fun partying and never leave the house..LOL And it's free, except for the donations to Hillary, unless you want to spend money in-world. Some people actually get jobs there, or make jobs for themselves by setting up a business of some sort. You can make good money if you learn how to make things in SL and have a talent for design of some sort. I made enough to pay my rent on the last house I had by selling uploaded photographs that I had taken. I put them on "prims" and sold them for L$50 Lindens each. They can only be used in-world. So, there are ways to make money in SL, and ways to raise money in SL. I think it would be a fun way for us to help Hillary pay off her debt. Does anyone else, besides NewHampster, want to play?? If so, go to http://secondlife.com and sign up. See you in-world!!

I started a PUMA group in SL. (0.00 / 0)
It's called PUMAs for Hillary '08/'12. You can join as soon as you become an SL member. We can be a virtual army for Hillary. Don't forget, most political figures have an SL presence, including a lot of the superdelegates. It was a big thing in the last election.

Hillary - alternative energy

Well, in-world I usually stick to either (0.00 / 0)
champagne, tea, coffee or lemonade..LOL That's Jouet champagne..and I have Chivas too, I think. Look me up via IM when you get there. The IM will be delivered when I sign on again. And a copy goes to my email too. Great way to send emails back and forth without having to give your email out to all and sundry. For instance, a group notice, like about a fund raising party, would go to the entire group at once. Or you can just send IMs to one person regarding whatever. Then they get it when they sign on again, as well as in email. They can answer you back without knowing your email. Good for large groups where you don't really know everyone.
