Catchy title since I have no idea if masslib or others have an open thread scheduled to launch and I do not want to toe step.

As they say, What 'tis on your minds today?

This new video is on mine.

"Leave Barack Alone!"

That's what I plan on doing---I'll gladly leave his name alone too when it comes time to mark my ballot.  And once he loses, he'll have a LOT of alone time.  That's what happens to all those flash-in-the-pan celebrities after the public gets bored and moves on to the next American idol.

i think he peaked too soon. (0.00 / 0)
there's not enough content in his message to interest the american public for the length of time necessary to win an election. he's gonna be a one-hit wonder.

Barack Obama's election proves that any male can grow up to be president, provided he's willing to use misogyny as a campaign strategy.

I heard the plan is to un-peak him (0.00 / 0)
He'll tell us to please disregard, never mind, the campaign until now as he has decided to start over.  Pollsters, please reset your numbers the race is now on.

they can at least unpeak?- bot don't put nancy in charge, she's taken unpeaking off the table.  She has much admiration for peak and her daughter once interviewed it.

Pelosi On NPR Wednesday (0.00 / 0)
said the reason for not impeaching Bush was that he would be gone in six months.

Not a word about upholding the law or anything like that.

Rasmussen says 22% of all Dems still off reservation... (0.00 / 0)
..and the numbers get REALLY ugly among conservative dems, and those over 55 (the ones who actually, like, you know, VOTE and stuff). That's down from 30 percent a month ago, but it's not a good place for a presumptuous democratic nominee to be, especially one who's so enamoured of their fan base that they really don't feel the need to do any outreach to groups not won over yet.

http://www.rasmussenreports.co...

and here's bad news.. .the undecideds are leaning mccain, despite being largely democrats.

Overall, there are twice as many uncommitted voters at this point in Election 2008 as there were four years ago. An analysis released yesterday showed that there are more Democrats than Republicans in the uncommitted category, but that they are leaning more towards McCain than Obama.

I not only want to take a vote away from Obama, I want to hurt his vote count by giving a vote to his opponent.  Guess that would be McCain.

It doesn't matter who is the vp pick. (0.00 / 0)
I will not vote for Obama.  Ever.  Funny thing is, I had to learn to loathe him.  I had no bad feelings toward him until South Carolina.

me too.  actually right after NH, when the media started saying NH people must be racist because HRC won there. Then it got a lot worse after that.

Hillary made history when she won NH, the first woman to ever win a major primary, but you had to go to England to pick up that headline.  Our press failed to notice that.

It still drives me batty (0.00 / 0)
The first woman to win a Presidential primary is, apparently, just NOT news at all.

about Obama's STUPID statement about him no looking like president's on our currenc?.  This guy is plain stupid - in different ways than George W - but stupid just the same.

the REALLY stupid comment... (0.00 / 0)
...was by his press spokesperson claiming obama didn't mean anything racial by it.

McCain  44%

When the whole country is so disatisfied with a Republican Executive, how can it be so close?  Maybe we have the wrong presumptive nominee.  We need someone who can win decisively in November.  Who could that be?

Democrats. Won 3 of the last 11 contest. (0.00 / 0)
That's our Democrats.

This Should Be the Tip-Off To the SDs. (0.00 / 0)
Dems should be a shoo-in to take over from the worst-president-ever.  Our presumptous nominee has managed to take what ought to be a blowout and turn it into an even race.

This is just nuts.  How can the SDs not see it?

Right before dinner, too.  The little nit wit in it does remind me of some of the followers of the One we have had to blog with, though.  They are freakingly similar right down to the tantrum, and the tears whenever Obama is spoken of in glowing terms.

Or not so glowing terms................... (0.00 / 0)

Obama's law course syllubi (0.00 / 0)
pretty telling. Here's a memo to students distributed with their graded exams, including his suggested answers. Look at the opening graph:

First, let me apologize for the extreme tardiness in getting this memo to you. Due to a miscue between me and my secretary in Springfield, I thought it had been faxed to the registrar and distributed over two months ago.

OOok. You didn't have to give us all that info, just say you're sorry.

Hi, New Hampster!  I miss reading your stuff at MyDD.  So much so that I've finally wandered off the reservation, as it were.

Right in the height of Obama's study abroad and the resulting media lovefest, Gallup tracking had Obama up by 9 points.  I remember all of the usual outlets on the web going on and on about the media's "false narrative" of a "neck and neck horse race."

What is it today, you ask?  Obama 45, McCain 44.

How is this possible?  How?  Is Barack Obama really that weak?  Is it seriously almost August, and we're in a statistical dead heat with the Republican?  A Republican who is closely tied to George W. Bush, Mr. 29%?  For God's sakes, the man's worse at winning an election than the Congressional Democratic caucus!  He's batting like a minor leaguer!

As time goes on, I am only further disillusioned with Barack Obama's campaign and his ability to win the Presidency.  It is one thing to win an arcane and greatly unequal nomination process, but it is quite another to win a general election.  The maps which suggest an Obama victory in the electoral college are dubious at best.

Hope and change are great.  First you have to win.  I'm still undecided.  If it's not HRC for VP (which looks unlikely) things are only going to get harder for me.

On a lighter note, I started teaching band camp at my school today :).  The kids are great this year!  We got so much done!

No candidacy is more important than the right to vote.

Hornplayer, I think you'll like it here. It's a lively place. We hope the superdelegates come to their senses, dump the chump, and nominate Hillary at the convention.

What instrument do you play?

Alice left me in Wonderland.

[ Parent ]
Thanks! I think I'll like it, too. (0.00 / 0)
I actually play a lot of different instruments, being a music education major in school, but my primary instrument is the French horn.  I also play trumpet, trombone, baritone, tuba, flute, clarinet, saxophone, violin, viola, cello and string bass, although none of them quite as well!  I'll always be a horn player at heart :).

No candidacy is more important than the right to vote.

I guess I have to stop the Horny jokes.

I think way down deep we're all undecided.  McCain, Nader or maybe Cynthia McKinney.  I think tonight I'll go read what she has to say.

anyway welcome.
