I'll stack my source up against the unnamed source of the Daily News' any day of the week and twice on Sunday...J
UPDATE!

The Daily News is claiming Hillary's decided to release her delegates at the convention. They're making this stuff up guys. Take a look at this article and you'll see that this so-called source is unnamed, and that the writer admits that spokeswoman for Hillary's team - Kathleen Strand (the only person named in this POS article) has stated that no decisions have been made at this time. This article is nothing but innuendo and fabrication - I'm guessing it's a slow news day at the Daily News so they tossed this out to drum up some chatter.
Think about it - after all she's been through in this campaign, does anyone really think she'd leak this monumental story to a paper like the Daily News? It's laughable!
Meanwhile we've contacted Hillary's New York office and we were told that this report is not true. We've also got a contact who met with Hillary in San Francisco Thursday, and they told us the following...
"She talked about her name being put into nomination and she said that she wanted her voters to be heard and for her delegates to have the experience of what a real convention is. She said that by doing this and by having a roll call that it would help unify the party."
(This has been confirmed by someone else at yesterday's event - update below the fold!)
The Daily News is claiming that Hillary has decided not to put her name into nomination and guys - this claim is utterly and completely FALSE! While it's true Hillary has to take an active role in getting her name into nomination at the convention later this month, it is not true that she's decided to release her delegates or back down from this fight.
Not in the least.
Think about it - she suspended her campaign on June 7th and since then dozens of PUMA type groups have sprung up all over the country. These groups represent hundreds of thousands of people who say they will not - under any circumstances - vote for BHO in the general election. Some have even stated they'll support McCain (I'm not in that camp btw). Polls show that nearly a quarter of her supporters fall into this second category and that many more will simply skip the presidential election come Nov. 4th if Hillary's not on the ballot.
We're talking about over 30% of her 18 million supporters guys. Without our support BHO will NOT go on to beat McCain on Nov. 4th. Ok he won't beat McCain anyway but the bottom line here is that he needs us and the only way any of us would even consider voting for the guy is for him to hold a fair and open vote at the convention. That ballot has got to give the delegates a choice between him and Hillary.
Hillary could have said something right?
But she hasn't - has she?
She's still in this fight because she knows it's not about her - it's about us and our right to be heard at our convention. We're 18 million-strong and we deserve an honest and open vote. Without it, whoever comes out on top won't be legitimate in the eyes of millions of us so when you get right down to it - Hillary's right in saying this vote would help unify the party! No matter the results, our nominee will have faced the delegates in a fair contest (ok nearly fair given all that's happened so far) and can face McCain knowing they earned the right to move on to the general election as our nominee.
Those who are trying to pressure her to allow a ballot with only BHO's name on it are afraid of a fair vote and they have absolutely no business calling themselves Democrats dammit. They're nothing more than corrupt cowards.
FIGHT ON HILLARY!
UPDATE
Someone over at the Confluence left the following comment regarding that event in San Francisco yesterday. They were there - check it out...
Originally it was labeled an event to help pay down her debt but some how it morphed into a unity event. Hell, there were about 10 Pumas that I know for sure but I'm sure there were more. Afterwards we all stood around and told each other our pen names.
She said that she thinks it would help unify the party if her name was put into nomination and that she wants her supporters and delegates to be recognized and heard.
They say they've got video and will put that up onto the net tomorrow - stay tuned!
