| I bet you most of the google generation doesn't even know what Thesaurus means. What with educational standards falling so low and what not...
Well, I am here to the rescue. Here is a link (thesaurus.reference.com) and a great new game called THESAURUS: FIND THE HIDDEN MEANING.
The game is played like this. Player 1 comes up with a new word or a phrase, or an idiom, and using the Thesaurus, Player 2 gets to say why it's racist. You get one point for each step. The person with the least number of points wins.
Ready? Here we go! |
| ghost2 :: Thesaurus: A Great New Game |
| Word: presumptuous
Thesarus: uppity
Score: 1
Word: Confident
Thesaurus: audacious ->arrogant ->uppity
Score: 3
Word: youthful
Thesaurus: young -> boyish
Score: 2
Idiom: The boy who cried wolf.
Thesaurus: The boy who cried wolf.
Score: 0
On a serious note, I think racism is real, has many facets, and hurts real people. I also think politicians of either side trying to exploit it for cheap political points and to eventually get in the office are very low. Commentators and bloggers who carry their water are even worse. It leaves me disgusted. Not only is it dishonest, but it poisons the well for those with real grievances.
Please practice respect for each other, and respect for TRUTH. I hope that with those as our guiding principles, we can be good, decent human beings (of every color) and always stand for what is right and just. |
