It's not too late to sign the Michigan Demands Representation peition in support of MIchigan voters, if you haven't already done so. This is not an online petition; you have to print it, sign it and mail it in. I printed out and made copies to send to friends and relatives in Florida to sign in support of their fellow Michigan voters, who share the unpleasant experience of having been disregarded by the Democratic Party.
Here's a statement of the MDR's mission:
To Protect Our Civil Liberties and Our Voting Rights
Have Our Votes Counted and Our Delegates Seated in
Accordance with the Certified Presidential Primary
Results of January 15, 2008
Honor Previous Generations Who Gave Their Lives to
Ensure Our Voting Privileges
Ensure and Protect the Right to Votes and Have Those
Votes Counted for Future Generations
Here's an excerpt from the petition's statement:
The Democratic National Committee (DNC) is not recognizing the voice and the votes of millions of democrats who set aside time to participate in a democratic process. The
failure of the DNC to recognize Michigan's Democratic voters and to seat our delegates based on the January 15th primary is counter to democratic principles and is an act of disenfranchisement.
