Obama's Muslim affairs coordinator resigns

http://politicalticker.blogs.c...

(CNN) - After barely a week on the job, Barack Obama's Muslim outreach adviser resigned from the campaign after an old business connection with a fundamentalist Islamic imam surfaced last week.

Mazen Asbahi, a Chicago corporate lawyer, stepped down Monday after joining the campaign on July 26 as its national coordinator for Muslim affairs. The Wall Street Journal first reported the resignation on Tuesday night.

In a letter to the campaign, Asbahi wrote, "I am stepping down from the volunteer role I recently agreed to take on with the Obama campaign as Arab American and Muslim American outreach coordinator in order to avoid distracting from Barack Obama's message of change."

with the guy he picked to head up his VP selection committee?

And OMG, if I hear that ridiculous "distracting" meme one more time, I think I will puke.

By the time Denver rolls around, he will stink like week-old fish left out in the sun. Oh, and I am looking into getting the list of Dem delegates in FL and am going to start some phone calls to get them to vote Hillary at Denver. Heh. Also am going to engage our local Dem party, which isn't very active, and get them going on it if I can. I have had local candidates showing up at my door daily, there is a local and then the national election coming up and the local Dems go door to door. I have lived here two and a half years and have yet to meet a Republican candidate at my door. Apparently they expect me to spend MY gas to go see them. Uh, nooooooooo. Anyway, Obama may get a big surprise in Denver, one not to his liking. At least, I hope he does. :)

since he didn't vet himself (0.00 / 0)
his volunteers can hardly be expected to vet themselves. I don't think anyone's associates should reflect on anyone personally, but obviously Barrack does, and his supporters mainly use associations to smear, me anyway.  There is hardly anyone involved in the middle east who has no association with anyone controversial, or even bad.  And, what's the message of change, when is he going to explain to that we can be sure to pay attention and not get distracted?
