The theme is gender apartheid (the separation of women in a society) The event that has triggered this theme is the resignation of the Obama camp's Muslim Outreach coordinator and Chicago lawyer Mazen Asbahi. Asbahi served on the board of the Allied Assets Advisors Fund at the same time as Mr. Jamal Said, a fundamentalist imam of the Bridgeview mosque in Illinois.
A Chcago Tribune article from 2004 talks about the history of the mosque and talks extensively about Jamal Said.
The article shows the controversy in the Mosque including the mention that some some mosque attenders are worried that their children are taught to reject American society.
