Open Thread: PUMA Conference

Great conference.  I met River Daughter and some of her team, along with Darragh Murphy, Sherri Tag, caught up with Will Bower and met some other folks who are soooooo dedicated to making sure Hillary's name gets on to the roll call ballot, and are determined to retake our party.  I spent a lot of time talking with Michele Thomas at today's conference.  Michele's  working 24/7 with delegates and some other volunteers to bring aboard enough delegates to get that nominating petition ready for Hillary to sign off on.

Guys that video from SimoFish got the attention of a lot of delegates - I've got a gut feeling they're going to get the 300 delegates and then some but we have GOT to keep hammering away at this - laser focus on Denver.

Between now and the 27th I have but one goal - to get Hillary on the ballot and convince the Supers and the other delegates to back the one candidate who WILL beat John McCain in the GE.  Nothing else matters between now and the convention IMHO.

Michele and I had dinner with a couple guys who played a hand in putting the following video together...

FDR went on to win the nomination of our party back in 1932.  Let's make it happen again for a New Yorker who just won't give up the fight.  She knows this is bigger than her, and that millions of people are counting on her to get to work and help them NOW.  They can't wait until 2012 and dammit - neither should we.  So let's get to work!

Glad it went well! (0.00 / 0)

Sounds like you had a great time with a wonderful bunch of dedicated people!

Hooray for PUMAs! :)

Country before party.

message from Hillary (0.00 / 0)
   to Democratic women:

Actually Hillary wrote this (in Living History, p. 463) as a message to all women, but it especially applies now to us female Dems.

One hundred and fifty years ago, the women at Seneca Falls were silenced by someone else.  Today, women:  We silence ourselves.  We have a choice.  We have a voice.

(and male Dems too, for that matter!  We own our votes!)

We have a choice. We have a voice. (0.00 / 0)
Great quote! Yes, we do have a choice and a voice! We, working together as a coalition, are making a difference.

We have the power. This is our time, our opportunity. We all need to renew our commitment, make ever effort, exhaust every resource. Sign up for Electability Watch and/or PUMA Pac prowls, write to the delegates, donate to The Denver Group and PUMA Pac to support their efforts. Keep contacting the MSM to get our message out.

We've got 2 1/2 weeks. Dig deep, focus, and give 110%! Hillary needs us, the voiceless and invisible need us, our country needs us. Be a patriot!

There's a book out on the 1932 Convention by the way...

The Strongest Argument (0.00 / 0)
I think the strongest argument -- that is, the one with the most punch for the public -- for putting Hillary's name in nomination and on the first ballot is, "Why treat a woman differently?"

For years, every man who has sought the candidacy has had these things, but now that a woman dares to seek the highest office in the land, suddenly there's all this ANIMUS against her.

This is just a continuation of the rampant, repulsive misogyny we saw during the campaign season. It's sick, and it's disgusting.

With only a few weeks left until the convention, this short, simple thesis can make a great impression. It doesn't need a lot of explanation; what it needs is emphasis. It needs coverage. Hammer it home, everywhere, again and again and again.

It's because she's a woman.

Major mojo, Tom. I'd rec this if it were a diary. You should post this as diary so it can get more visibility.

Thanks & Help (0.00 / 0)
There's time for this to work as a campaign, but no time for me to post it somewhere and attract enough interest first. It's got to go viral, and I don't have the exposure.

I've posted it at a few of the more popular sites today, and emailed it when I couldn't find a place to post.

If you think it's a good idea, please pass it on. Tell two people (or three, or four), and tell them to tell two people, etc.

We have the network now. I believe this is the message that could guarantee her a place on the ballot.
