Open Thread: A Simple Reminder

We still don't know what Hillary's going to do when she's presented with that nominating petition, but we have to keep fighting to give her the option of having her name on that ballot.  Our efforts - give - her - power!

And we have to believe that in her heart, she knows this is bigger than she is and that her 18 million voters deserve a voice at our party's convention.

So just in case there are any doubts out there, here's what Hillary said about 10 days ago in CA to some of her supporters.  I think her message is pretty clear in this - take a look.

This is an open thread - what's on your mind?

I don't think the Democrat's deserve to (0.00 / 0)
win.  The heavy handed moves in support of anybody but Clinton by so-called Party elders made a mockery of fair play.  I think they deserve to lose.  For my part, and I know there are others here who don't see it the way I do, I think Obama lacks principles.  I think you can look at his political record, thin as it is, and see a man who made every decision based on simply what was best for him politically.  I think when you look at the adult life of a Presidential candidate and can not see one cause he credibly can all his own...well, this isn't someone I could support for President.

it's that contrast (0.00 / 0)
that makes it harder, not him being so bad, but her being so great, and then her amazing experience and his hardly any, it's the contrast.

has anyone reported yet that the Atlantic Monthly email story  proved HIllary did not seek to smear him in any way.  She's an ethical and brilliant woman and she clearly could have trounced anything the RNC put up.   Now it'll be a tough race, and not on issues, on personalities and smears. How delightful.  That'll really cure the national depression Bush ushered in, not.

Anna, I was thinking about you when I read this (0.00 / 0)

Mark Davis, over at Real Clear Politics, argues that if Hillary had taken Penn's advice, she would be the nominee.  Now she has to stand by watching McCain use Penn's attacks and take the Presidency.

maybe that's true (0.00 / 0)
but it would not be Hillary, she isn't slash and burn, never had been never will be. Even the few mild reprimands she sent him were a lot for her, but she did the fact checks. What's true id that if the press hadn't been so eager to portray her as someone she isn't, there would have been thinking going on and she would have won based on her abilities and her work ethic, and her priorities of course.

I don't think this is how it will go down, although by now I know her name will be in nomination and there is more than a fat chance she'll be on the ticket too.  McCain will use those tactics, and Hillary would have had a blow out win if she'd been the candidate.  I think he was very hard to run against early on, he had to be out there long enough for people to get over his attractions and start to think about him as a person, with strengths and weaknesses, and not as a representative of our shame over electing (or selecting) bush.

This isn't about Dean OR BHO right now.

I'm still fighting for Hillary and our right to be heard in Denver.  Millions are counting us to make this happen so contact those state paety chairs and do it now.

We have 2 weeks minus one.

you can say it over and over (0.00 / 0)
and it's demonstrably true, that we want to enjoy that respect given to her historic run, but those who don't think Barack should share, that he should stick to winner take all and devil gets the hind-share don't want him to win.  Looks like she's working for him while he's on vacation, some are sure honked about that, but we need to hold his feet to the fire.  He seeks to represent us too, he should start representing, that's what I think.

Yeah, I just don't think that's Obama. (0.00 / 0)

Barry Soetoro News (0.00 / 0)
Texas Darlin has an alleged AP photo on her site of an Indonesian school registration doc for Obama. It looks real to me. Her post is definitely worth checking out. The caption says:

This registration document, made available on Jan. 24, 2007, by the Fransiskus Assisi school in Jakarta, Indonesia, shows the registration of Barack Obama under the name Barry Soetoro into the Catholic school made by his step-father, Lolo Soetoro. The document lists Barry Soetoro as a Indonesian citizen, born on August 4, 1961 in Honolulu, and shows his Muslim step-father listed the boy's religion as Islam.(AP Photo/ Tatan Syuflana)

What It Means

This AP photo is compelling evidence of the following assertions, which have been set forth on this blog:

1. Barack Obama had Indonesian citizenship

2. Barack Obama had the legal name Barry Soetoro

3. Barack Obama was a Muslim, despite his "fight the smears" claim that he never has been. (see new story that we just posted on this topic).

In addition, it means that Barack Obama apparently lied to the Illinois Supreme Court when asked to provide former names, according to this Attorney's Registration Record:

At any rate, that is not my issue with Obama.

At the very least (0.00 / 0)
it continues to show that Obama lies, lies, lies about who he is. If he would have been properly vetted by the media, I guarantee he would not be the "presumptive" nominee right now. Hillary would be the nominee.

Many Americans, me included, have a problem with a presidential candidate that is also a citizen of another country. More importantly, I don't care about one's religious practices or background, but I do care about our President, especially in this climate of anti-American terrorism by Islamic Extremists. IMHO, the last thing we need is for Islamic Extremists to think they have a friend in the White House.

Third Culture Kids are cool, my partner is one. But is this country really ready for a Third Culture Kid president who has serious anti-American baggage? I think not.

The DNC and party leaders who backed Obama really screwed up. Luckily, there is still time to correct the course and nominate Hillary at the convention. There is NO WAY Obama will survive this, and Wright, and Ayers, and...(insert laundry list here).

Did anyone else read the latest E.J. Dionne idiocy? (0.00 / 0)

http://www.realclearpolitics.c...

The article is so filled with fiction and fallacies the man should be writing for Regency Romances. No, sorry not that well written.

According to Dionne, Bill and Hillary Clinton should be grateful that Obama has allowed them to participate at the convention.

Bill, aka Former President Clinton is, correct me if I'm wrong, the titular leader of the Democratic Party until another democrat is elected president. Obama is the presumptive and presumptuous leader of nothing accept his own campaign.

Senator Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton is a former FLOTUS, a Democratic Senator from New York, and a candidate that garnered more votes than any other candidate in a primary. Ever.

They are supposed to be grateful that they will be allowed by this poseur to participate?

The bit about Obama winning fair and square was a hoot too. Dionne is quite the little comedian. Needs to be cause he sure as hell isn't much of a journalist.
