Joe Lieberman down on Obama

Lost in the turmoil that is the headlines about Russian intervention in Georgia, and the subsequent drawing of contrasts between the responses of Sen. McCain on the one hand, and Sen. Obama's perceived tepid answers on the other han -- lost in all of this is where, how and who characterized the distinction between the two senators.

Joe Lieberman is down on Obama, and poitively aglow about McCain.

sharmajee :: Joe Lieberman down on Obama
Michael Cooper of NYT - The Caucus draws attention to this in reporting on McCain's now famous We are all Georgians comment at a campaign event in York, PA on Tuesday. It was the former Dem VP candidate who introduced McCain thus:

In my opinion, the choice could not be more clear: between one candidate, John McCain, who's had experience, been tested in war and tried in peace, another candidate who has not. Between one candidate, John McCain, who has always put the country first, worked across party lines to get things done, and one candidate who has not. Between one candidate who's a talker, and the other candidate who's the leader America needs as our next president.

Basically, old Joe is saying that Obama does not always put America first. (Emphasis mine) After the Berlin speech, that is more obvious than ever. Some readers of this blog might give Obama a benefit of doubt, but I doubt it.

Here is the video of the event.

It should be noted that Sen. Lieberman is the assigned 'mentor' to Obama in that august body. Also remember how the hard left castigated Lieberman as 'Holy Joe' and vowed to unseat him back in 2996. Well, Lieberman is now out in full open, Not-endorsing Obama.

Further along the same vein, how can anyone continue to say that Hillary is the divisive, that Hillary is the one who should unify, that she must do even more than she done to create  party unity. How can we unite a party hijacked by people who only know hate, sexism, Hardball.

Surely, as challenging as it is, it is Sen. Obama's job too, working with Hillary to unify the party. We know what she has done.

so, Sen. Obama what have you done lately to unify the party?  {Hint: Asking her to take the top slot would be a good move ;=>}

Addendum: I forgot to add this little snippet from Lieberman (ABC This Week) as reported by TIME magazine's  Swampland:[oops]

The Democratic Party today was not the party it was in 2000. It's not the Bill Clinton-Al Gore party, which was strong internationalists, strong on defense, pro-trade, pro-reform in our domestic government. It's been effectively taken over by a small group on the left of the party

Forgot about that.

When I first read (0.00 / 0)
your title, I saw "Joe Lieberman goesdown on Obama" -- and thought to myself, oh my, they are shoving Obama down Lieberman's throat too. LOL. Sorry, I'm exhausted.

Alice left me in Wonderland.

So naughty when exhausted, (0.00 / 0)
would have upset me were it not witty too, lol. I will try to keep my titles collegiate.

Still Hearting Hillary, In Slo-Mo toward McCain

I agree with Lieberman. (0.00 / 0)
The current neo-lib makeup of the party formerly known as Democratic makes it clear that, as Lieberman says:

It's been effectively taken over by a small group on the left of the party

Stop the drama, DUMP OBAMA!!!

There's no excuse for this, DNC.  None.
