Stolen Nomination? Good Question…

by: Alegre

Fri Aug 15, 2008 at 17:14:57 PM EDT

Some of you might recall the diaries posted by Pacific John a few months ago.  He worked down in Texas in the lead-up to and during the primaries and caucuses, and saw what went down in the caucuses on March 4th.  John collected info and documented countless instances of voter abuse and intimidation.  I also posted a follow-up to this story HERE and Jerome Armstrong did a great breakdown on primary vs caucus performance.  As you can see, there's a lot of information that's already out there.

Dr Lynette Long has taken this up a few notches folks, and has looked into the fraud and abuse in states all around the country.  In looking at the data and proof she's collected, you really have to wonder if maybe those saying this nomination was stolen might actually be on to something.  Lynette's organized and analyzed the caucus data to demonstrate EXACTLY how the results were purposely manipulated and skewed to secure Obama's nomination.

Check out her excellent example from Nevada-- a state that Hillary won.

Hillary won the state of Nevada 51%-45%
...but by the time the contest reached the state convention, she ended up with 3 fewer delegates!

Make the jump to find out how this happened...

Alegre :: Stolen Nomination? Good Question…
"On January 19, 2008, Hillary Clinton won the Democratic Caucus 51%-45%, a comfortable six point win.  The estimated National Delegates were Clinton 13 and Obama 12. At the County the percentages changed to 51% to 49% Clinton and the estimated National Delegate count was now Obama 13, Clinton 12. Nevada's twenty-five "pledged" delegates to the 2008 Democratic National Convention were chosen on May 17, Barack Obama had 55% of the votes and Clinton had 45% of the votes when the party had its state convention. There are 14 national delegates for Obama and 11 for Clinton. By time the contest reached the state convention and the delegate count was now Obama 14, Clinton 11. How is this 16 point swing possible? This is a four-delegate swing. How did Clinton lose two delegates and Obama gain two delegates?"

Lynette's site contains many other examples of intimidation, chicanery and outright foolishness....

In one caucus they ran out of ballots--so they used "Post-It" notes--not surprisingly, when the final votes were counted there were more "stickies" than persons present...

Please go to her site immediately and start reading. Trust me: you will be blown away!

This is just the tip of the iceberg you guys.  Lynette's set up one hell of a website on the caucus fraud that's gone down in this election.  She just sent the following note out...

Announcing the Launch of  http://www.lynettelong.com/CAU...

A Website Devoted Specifically to Caucus Fraud.  If you think caucuses are boring think again.

At the caucus fraud website you'll find

An in-depth analysis of each of the 14 caucus states
Over 100 Videos that take you inside a caucus
Gripping Eyewitness Reports of Caucus Fraud
Private Emails and Testimonials Never Seen Before
Articles and Videos on Obama's 4 day Induction Camp - Camp Obama
And for the geeks in the crowd, election results, demographics, caucus rules and poll results. And lots, lots, more.

If you think you know what happened at the caucuses - think again.

Please help distribute this site and paste the link everywhere.

Thanks.  Lynette drlynettelong@aol.com

So, playing by the rulz, or outright fraud and abuse.  Take a look at what Lynette's put together and then you be the judge.  For my money, this needs to be looked into by the authorities.

Very thorough site (0.00 / 0)
nicely done.

I've been avoiding (0.00 / 0)
reading or thinking about the caucuses because of the rage I knew it would cause. So OK, now I'm in a rage. OBAMA MUST BE DEFEATED. He cannot be allowed to get away with this.

I'm so glad (0.00 / 0)
  the caucus reform movement is persisting and growing.

We have to keep pushing the Democratic Party to live up to its name and get rid of those anti-democratic caususes.  We need to encourage greater voter turnout, and the fastest, most effective way of achieving that end is out-lawing the caucuses.  That alone would at least quadruple voter turnout in those states which switch from caucus to primary.

The primary turnout in New Hampshire this year was over 50%.
The caucus turnout in neighboring Maine was less than five percent.

That says it all.  Ten times the voter turnout in the primary state.

Caucuses & mothers of small children (0.00 / 0)
How can you take a small child to a caucus?  Some of these things lasted for hours.  Many were at night after bedtimes.

I could take my toddler to vote in our primary because I live in a small township.  There was no line and voting took less than 5 minutes.  I can't imagine trying to take him to a two-three hour loud, chaotic experience like that.  As good tempered as he is, he would still lose it in 10 minutes and we'ld have to leave.

I only leave him with adults and I think it would be wrong of me to ask them to give up their voting privilege so I could exert mine.

What are we expected to do?

Oh, have I mentioned I can't stand Obama?

Thinking about this enrages me. (0.00 / 0)
I also believe there was primary fraud, to wit, in states like Wisconsin which allow you to vote only ten days after being resident in the state.  (I don't know if any other state is as liberal as WI in this regard, but others do have short waiting periods before you're eligible to vote.)  I am convinced that some of the younger Obama volunteers voted in more than one state; some have bragged about it in malls and certainly online.  They don't think anyone cares . . . well, I care, and I'm disgusted.

The caucus fraud was truly egregious, and the fact that the DNC didn't crack down on it whatsoever is mind-blowing.  I just don't understand why they didn't do that; even McCain can take cracks at Obama's campaign not being legitimate thereby, and I'm sure McCain will.

Really, the only legitimate candidate we have left is Hillary Clinton.  The DNC should back her now and ask Obama to bow out, citing stress or poor health (anyone who's needed five vacations since the first of the year can't be in great health no matter what he looks like or what his fitness regimen is) or because his wife really doesn't enjoy the stress . . . anything.  Because otherwise, they're going down as well as Obama . . . we'll never forget.

Stop the drama, DUMP OBAMA!!!

There's no excuse for this, DNC.  None.

vacationland (0.00 / 0)

BHO is the most vacation-prone guy since GWB -- yet another similarity between them.

Remember around Easter, BHO took an extended vacation on some exotic island.  Hillary spent Easter weekend home with her family.

re: primary fraud.  remember that long, long delay in that Indiana BHO county -- which in turn delayed declaring HRC's win.  She was finally given her victory in the middle of the night when everyone was asleep.

I HAVE THE ANSWER TO HOW THIS HAPPENED (0.00 / 0)
See my post listed under "recent diaries" It is my followup to Alegres original post. I cna answer how Obama won more Delegates even though Hillary won the popular vote!! He cheated the system with help

~~~~~~~~~~I Haven't had a President since 2001~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Same sleight of hand occurred in Texas (0.00 / 0)
where Hillary won the popular vote comfortably, but by the the all these caw-caw cusses, got rigged and roped, she ended up with fewer delegates. Democracy is great or what
Still Hearting Hillary, In Slo-Mo toward McCain
