| Alegres post yesterday sent me searching through folders on my computer. I know I had the answer to this somewhere. Alegre said Jerome Armstrong did a great breakdown on primary vs caucus performance. As you can see, there's a lot of information that's already out there. -snip-
From Jerome's post:
A curious fact is that, though Clinton and Obama are about tied in the popular vote, it takes about 960 more votes for Clinton to gain a single pledged delegate, as it has for Obama (overall). That is, after nearly all the contests, for every 11790 votes Clinton gets, she's earned a pledged delegate, and for every 10800 votes that Obama has gotten, he's earned a pledged delegate. SNIP Clinton leads by a sliver among those that have voted in primaries, while with the chart here, Obama leads in votes total (doesn't count MI or FL). And yet, among the caucus states, Obama leads by far in the votes.
Alegre also said: "Hillary won the state of Nevada 51%-45%
...but by the time the contest reached the state convention, she ended up with 3 fewer delegates! "
And from Dr Lynette Long's new caucus fraud site we see this:
On January 19, 2008, Hillary Clinton won the Democratic Caucus 51%-45%, a comfortable six point win. The estimated National Delegates were Clinton 13 and Obama 12. At the County the percentages changed to 51% to 49% Clinton and the estimated National Delegate count was now Obama 13, Clinton 12. Nevada's twenty-five "pledged" delegates to the 2008 Democratic National Convention were chosen on May 17, Barack Obama had 55% of the votes and Clinton had 45% of the votes when the party had its state convention. There are 14 national delegates for Obama and 11 for Clinton. By time the contest reached the state convention and the delegate count was now Obama 14, Clinton 11. How is this 16 point swing possible? This is a four-delegate swing. How did Clinton lose two delegates and Obama gain two delegates?" "
Now it just so happens that I can answer that question. Obama has had the best people, either given to him, or sent to him. David Plouffe brought Jeffrey Berman to the campaign over a year and a half ago for this very thing. To take advantage of weaknesses in the caucus states and more. I'm sure we all remember fondly and with delight when our girl Hillary WON Nevada, but then our joy turned to a collective scream of "WTF???" when suddenly during our victory celebration, a man from theObama campaign interrupted (broke into the call) that the Clinton people were having with the media after her win!! Remember?? Well, that was Berman!! He has figured out a way to, what the Obama camp calls "take advantage" and we call "CHEATING THE SYSTEM" here is how he did it...jump |

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton had just declared victory in the Nevada caucuses when most campaign reporters heard Jeffrey Berman's voice for the first and only time. snipBerman, Sen. Barack Obama's director of delegate selection, chimed in during a conference call with the media to make an unexpected case:-snip- Despite Clinton's popular vote victory in Nevada and an authoritative Associated Press count giving Clinton the edge in the Nevada delegate count, Obama had actually won the state by the only measure that mattered. -snip-
"Obama had a majority in the district that had an odd number of delegates, so he won an extra seat," Berman told the puzzled press snip
as Obama amassed delegates despite losing big states, the shape of the race became clear: The name of the game was delegates snip
It was the game Berman and a friend, Obama campaign manager David Plouffe, had been playing all along. snip
it began to become clear that Berman had helped build Obama a lead too big to surmount. snip
Obama's likely nomination is emblematic of the depth of Obama's preparation for the 2008 campaign. snip
Berman, by contrast, 25 years ago joined the very small fraternity of Democratic operatives steeped in the obscure - and typically unrewarding - subfield of delegate selection. It's a job description that begins with getting the candidate on the ballot with full delegate slates in 50 states and extends through building a whip operation for a possible floor fight at the convention. snip
(DID YOU GET THAT??ALL BASES COVERED RIGHT UP TO THE CONVENTION FLOOR!! )
And there is more:
the crucial process of setting a campaign's strategy for amassing the maximum number of delegates - a mind-numbing blend of math and politics that will focus a candidate's energies on congressional districts in which the math of proportional representation gives him or her a chance to pick up an extra delegate or run up a big margin. snip
people see how the mechanics of the process can really determine the outcome of the election." -snip-
It's an art Obama employed to his benefit -snip-
strategic choices and powerful on-the-ground organizing -snip-
to run up the big lead in delegates that has taken him to the brink of the nomination. snip
Berman, despite the Obama campaign's anti-lobbyist stance, has spent most non-campaign time at the Washington law and lobbying firm Winston and Strawn, where he specialized in telecommunications-snip-
Berman's detailed, 50-state planning began astoundingly early, say many of those who talked to him about it. snip
Carrick, who worked in presidential politics in 1980, recalled that Berman called him early in 2007 to discuss Texas's exotic mix of primary and caucus - preparing for a vote that would take place the following March 5.
So there you have it folks!!
it's not about votes, it's all about cheating and gaming the system,
IF YOU WIN IN A DISTRICT THAT HAS AN "ODD" NUMBER OF DELEGATES YOU GET AN EXTRA ONE!!!
Thank you Obama/DNC for removing all traces of Democracy from the Democratic Party!
If you can't win the popular vote, don't worry about it, just take advantage of the system and cheat.
The words "Chicago Election" springs to mind!
Obama is, and was, the insiders choice, the "anointed one" the Messiah" our "Dear Leader" the inside man!
HE MUST NOT WIN
